What is ICAR?

ICAR- Indian Council of Agricultural Research


ICAR full form – Indian Council of Agricultural Research. 

ICAR is an autonomous body under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India.

ICAR was established on 16th July 1929. 

The headquarter of ICAR is situated in New Delhi.

ICAR is the apex body for co-ordinating, guiding and managing research and education in agriculture including horticulture, fisheries and animal sciences in the entire country.

ICAR has 101 ICAR Institutes and 71 Agricultural Universities speard all over India. This is one of the largest national agricultural system in the world.
