What is DBT agriculture?

DBT is the Direct Benefit Transfer of subsidies directly to the beneficiaries through their bank accounts. Bank Accounts has been opened under the Jan Dhan scheme all over India. 
DBT transfer can be done either through state governments or central governments depending upon the nature and type of schemes. 

These agriculture DBT schemes are welfare schemes of central and state governments for farmers to give direct benefits. 

List of DBT agriculture schemes

  1. Interest Subsidy for Short Term Credit to Farmers (CREDIT)-The interest subvention scheme for farmers aims at providing short term credit to farmers at the subsidised interest rate
  2. Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH)-A Centrally Sponsored Scheme of MIDH launched for the holistic development of horticulture in the country during XII plan. The scheme which has taken take off from 2014_15 integrates the ongoing schemes of National Horticulture Mission_Horticulture Mission for North East and Himalayan States_ National Bamboo Mission_National Horticulture Board_ Coconut Development Board and Central Institute for Horticulture Nagaland.
  3. Sub Mission on Agriculture Mechanization (M&T)-The scheme is being implemented in all the states to promote the usage of farm mechanization and increase the ratio of farm power to the cultivable unit area up to 2 kW per ha. It is also aimed to increase the reach of farm mechanization to small and marginal farmers and to the regions where availability of farm power is low.
  4. Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY)Government of India is committed to accord high priority to water conservation and its management. To this effect, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana PMKSY has been formulated with the vision of extending the coverage of irrigation Har Khet ko pani and improving water use efficiency More crop per drop in a focused manner with end to end solution on source creation_ distribution_management_field application and extension activities. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Honble Prime Minister has accorded approval of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana PMKSY in its meeting held on 1st July 2015.

Sub Mission on Seeds and Planting Material (SEEDS)Sub Mission for Seed and Planting Material _SMSP under National Mission on Agricultural Extension and Technology _NMAET covers the entire gamut of seed production chain from production of nucleus seed to supply of certified seeds to the farmers to provide support for the creation of infrastructure conducive for development of the seed sector support to the public seed-producing organisations for improving their capacity and quality of seed production.
  6. Integrated Scheme on Agriculture Cooperation (AGRICOOP)-The scheme aims at Streamlining the cooperative marketing structure Diversification of activities Capacity building of cooperatives to undertake value addition Enabling cooperatives to have storage cold storage facilities Undertake business operations Improving activities in allied areas such as dairy poultry fishery coir handloom and sericulture Involving grass-root level cooperatives in integrated area development.
  7. National Food Security Mission (NFSM)National Food Security Mission NFSM was launched in October 2007 for increasing production of rice, wheat pulses, and coarse cereals through area expansion and productivity enhancement in a sustainable manner in the identified districts of the country
  8. Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY)-Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana PMFBY aims at supporting sustainable production in the agriculture sector by way of providing financial support to farmers suffering crop loss or damage arising out of unforeseen events stabilizing the income of farmers to ensure their continuance in farming encouraging farmers to adopt innovative and modern agricultural practices ensuring the flow of credit to the agriculture sector
  9. Agri Clinics and Agri Business Centres Scheme (ACABC)The scheme covers full financial support to create gainful self-employment opportunities to unemployed agricultural graduates agricultural diploma holders intermediate in agriculture and biological science graduates with PG in agriculture-related courses
  10. Agriculture Technology Management Agency – Farmers (ATMA-F)-Modified Extension Reforms Scheme was introduced with the objective of strengthening the extension machinery and utilizing it for synergizing the interventions under these schemes under the umbrella of Agriculture Technology Management Agency.
  11. Agriculture Technology Management Agency – Extension Functionaries (ATMA-EF)-Modified Extension Reforms Scheme was introduced with the objective of strengthening the extension machinery and utilizing it for synergizing the interventions under these schemes under the umbrella of Agriculture Technology Management Agency.
